NANTA Leaderships meet with Oyo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism ahead of 50th Anniversary – By Temitope Ogunsebikan

IBADAN, January 19, 2026

Earlier today, the Zonal Executive Council of the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA), alongside the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the 50th NANTA Annual General Meeting (AGM), held a strategic consultative meeting with the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun. The meeting also included the Ministry’s Directors and key administrative staff.

The primary focus of the engagement was the upcoming NANTA 50th AGM and Golden Jubilee Anniversary scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State between April 14-18, 2026.

During the session, the Honourable Commissioner reaffirmed the Oyo State Government’s commitment to the success of the event. He pledged comprehensive support in the critical areas of media coverage, security, and logistics.

The 2nd National Deputy President, Dr. Tokunbo Dagunduro, and the Zonal Vice President, Otunba Babatunde Adesokan, provided detailed updates on the event’s progress. They also highlighted the high-profile list of VIPs and government dignitaries expected to attend the landmark celebration in Ibadan.

A significant highlight of the visit was the presentation of the “Most Supportive Personality Award” to Dr. Olatubosun, in recognition of his tireless contributions to the growth and development of tourism within the state.

In his acceptance remarks, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun expressed his gratitude to NANTA delegation. He commended the association as a vital stakeholder and a major industry player that continues to elevate the standards of tourism in Nigeria.
